Overview
The St. Louis Balkan American Connection (STLBAC) is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) founded in February 2021 by three friends to expand mentorship for the next generation of the Balkan-American community in St. Louis. It connects students with experienced professionals through one-on-one mentoring, skill-building workshops, networking events, academic guidance and scholarships, funded by individual, corporate and foundation support and paid memberships.
Approach
A site organised around the two things a visitor can do: find a mentor or support the work. A directory of 130 mentors is grouped by industry with introductions requested through the contact form, success stories open as cards, the team page links to a profile for each of twelve board members and volunteers, and animated counters carry the impact numbers. Donations and the four membership tiers hand off to Donorbox.
Art Direction
A deep ink header and footer with cobalt, teal and peach accents that shift by page, Urbanist throughout.

Inside the build
130 mentors, by industry
A directory grouped from architecture to sports leadership, with introductions requested through the contact form's reason field.
Give or join
Donorbox handles donations and the four membership tiers, so the site never touches payment data.
People and proof
Twelve team profiles, eleven success stories in expandable cards, and animated counters for events, scholarships and students.
